My Salvation

My Salvation
Photo: Google Image

The scorching sun
Beats down,
Sweltering…
A hot ball of flames…
Searing all that comes
In its path…
I watch the pure
Shafts, strong and purposeful
Illuminating the universe
And I think of my heart
That was
Scarred and torn…
The hell fire that blazed…
Of agony, longing and despair
Darkness like a shroud
Loomed like eternity…
Trapped in the inferno
I was consumed…
Writhing and tossing
Lost and seduced…
While Hope
Mocked and jeered…

Until, one day
A blinding white light
Struck down…
Humility stormed
The dark recesses of
My torn soul…
Surrender burnt into ashes
The stubborn streak
Of sadness that lingered…
My heart was sanitized
Cleansed…
Leased a second life
A second chance
I was freed…
Relinquishing all
I found my salvation…

  5. Salvation is what we all need in the end. Life with all its brutal acts leaves us hapless. But hope keeps us alive. A small streak of light is all that a deprived soul needs to recover from its dire state.

    Wonderfully penned Rimly!

  19. Salvation is a wonderful thing...The chains are cast aside and we're free to soar once again. The weight of pain, sadness, humiliationa are great but hope eases the burden until Salvation takes place. Your words paint a beautiful picture!!Rimly very nice!!

  21. As long as the heart beats there is hope for another spin on the red brick floor. I think (have seen) some go through life avoiding anything that might cause them pain and accept the life they have because it's safe and easy. I feel sorry for them. Even though I've had heartache I'd not change anything because it's made life so much more interesting and colorful. Life is meant to be lived.

  23. Oh Rimly, that sweet blessed release—surrender. Letting the ashes curl into history, pages of the past gone. Redemption illuminating the dark places.

This was beautiful. So full of our humanity and the outstretched soul reaching for divinity. Lovely my sister poet.

    Love!

  24. Rimly, indeed our heart must be torn to shreds before we are able to reach salvation. It is only when we go through the process that we undestand why it was necessary and how it seems that we are given a second chance; one that we can only hope leads us to eternal salvation. Deep and moving, friend! :)
