Dark Desire
The whirlpool of my desire
Lures…
Its darkness churning,
Spinning with no beginning
No end…
It waits to suck me
Into its murky depths.
I stand on its edge
Once more
Hesitant, afraid
And yet tempted…
I have been there,
Tormented and torn
My soul bleeding
And lacerated
Beyond repair,
Weeping tears of
Hopeless longing
All in vain…
Tossed and turned
In this hellish hole
I learnt the lessons
Of wanting a love
With a hunger that
Clawed and gnawed
At every fiber of my being…
You were there too
Once upon a time,
Dragged into its
Abysmal inferno,
Embroiled in my
Dark desires
Broken and helpless…
Till Sense and Survival
Prevailed and I
Was left alone in
My own dark dungeon
And you moved on…
Time stood still then
The pain seemed eternal,
Like a shadow that lingered…
Till stubborn sunlight of Hope
Lashed at every nook
Of darkness and pain,
Stripping it of its poison
Healing and nurturing
The wasted me…
Today I hear its
Caressing call once more
Seducing me to its
Gory depths…
Tantalized
I want to be swallowed
In its endless depth
Lost again…
Really, the feel is so intense!! Loved it
ReplyDelete"With your touch so true and your gaze fixed on me
All I could ask for was it to last
My passion knew no bounds nor my heart could match its beats
And yet again I feel drawn into that moment of passion, my beloved past"
Prosenjeet, my poet friend, keep writing from your heart. Thank you for your lovely comment
DeleteThe magic continues .... here after a long time , you never cease to touch something so deep within ....frane
ReplyDeleteFrane really missed you here. How are you, my friend? Thank you do much for your heartfelt comment
DeleteRimly, this was so passionate. A soul lost in desire, not sure of fulfillment, but satisfied to wait in darkness rather than give up hope.
ReplyDeleteYou're such a lovely poet Rimly. Your soul is so passionate.
Thank you so much Leah. Sometimes one waits in darkness in anticipation of the light but it is not a very happy place.
DeleteVery intense...loved and lost and finding yourself again...beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Janu
Deleteso glad that type of love is only a distant memory for me...XOXO
ReplyDeleteLinda I hope for it too. Thank you so much xoxo
Deleteyou are lost in too much depth of sorrows, enchanting darkness in every phrase. dark poems make the moments gloomy. but your dark poems give so much of ecstatic texture to nurture the soul. i see you reincarnate with each dark poem in all different ways. kissing pain you rule, my lovely poetess.
ReplyDeletepraying for your every bit of happiness, you are my dearest as is your poems.
Sancheeta my sweet friend thank you for your wonderful comment. Too much darkness can get you lost and I dont want to do that.By writing about it releases some of the pain. xoxo
DeleteSwept away once again by your passionate words . . . I always get caught up in your poems and feel this is actually happening within me.
ReplyDeleteBravo, Rimly!
Blessings!
Martha if I can make my readers feel the same emotion with my poems then it is a real honor. Thank you so much. xoxo
Delete“Dark Desire” is aptly named. Why, if lacerated beyond repair, would one ever want to stand on the precipice of the whirlpool again and be sucked back in? But that’s the power of Eros, forceful, overpowering, possessive! Beware dear Rimly! He's out to get you!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I know Debra. I try to keep it in check, this lure for the dark pain. Thank you.
DeleteSo we go through it yet we will go through it again - remembrance of the pain yet of the love and the passion that resides deep within. Totally in tune as always x
ReplyDeleteThank you SJ. I guess all of us who have gone through can understand its lure.
DeleteWaiting is always hell and uncertain wait is a living nightmare. Love conquers all, or so they say...hope keeps us afloat on the choppy waters of this sea called true love. Amazing poem my dear Outlier, lots of love.
ReplyDeleteThank you My Outlier.
DeletePassionate and intense, hope through the darkness. Such a wonderful poem, you are a passionate woman with a huge heart.<3<3<3

ReplyDeleteThank you darling. I am yet to go and read your posts.
DeleteMy dear Rimly,
ReplyDeleteWhere there's a glimmer of hope, there's life & where there's life, love will soon follow. Love never fails us...it's we humans who misuse its meaning & blame the outcome on love. Always leave your heart open to love. Love is so irresistible that when it comes knocking, no matter how hard you try to resist, it always wins.
Passionate & intense, but beautifully expressed.
Thanks for sharing & visiting.
Andy waiting for that love to come and knock!!! My heart is always open. Thank you so much my dear friend

DeleteDesire like this is very frightening because it seems like only one can make it out unscathed. But what an adventure it is! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes it is an adventure, a dangerous one but so thrilling. Sometimes we are so tempted to destroy ourselves. That's what this poem is about. Thank you Tameka
DeleteWow a very vivid and strong prose. Our attachments to our desires can certaintly keep ups from happiness and lead us to torment.
ReplyDeleteYes Jessica sometimes the lure is so strong and we become one with the pain and unhappiness. It is frightening but mesmerizing at times. Thank you for your comment

Deletereally it is very intense!how could one go through so much and yet able to write about it? Just mindblowing.
ReplyDelete-Portia
I guess it is possible Portia. It is cathartic to write about it. It releases the tension. Thank you my friend
