Dark Desire

Dark Desire

The whirlpool of my desire
Lures…
Its darkness churning,
Spinning with no beginning
No end…
It waits to suck me
Into its murky depths.
I stand on its edge
Once more
Hesitant, afraid
And yet tempted…
I have been there,
Tormented and torn
My soul bleeding
And lacerated
Beyond repair,
Weeping tears of
Hopeless longing
All in vain…
Tossed and turned
In this hellish hole
I learnt the lessons
Of wanting a love
With a hunger that
Clawed and gnawed
At every fiber of my being…
You were there too
Once upon a time,
Dragged into its
Abysmal inferno,
Embroiled in my
Dark desires
Broken and helpless…
Till Sense and Survival
Prevailed and I
Was left alone in
My own dark dungeon
And you moved on…
Time stood still then
The pain seemed eternal,
Like a shadow that lingered…
Till stubborn sunlight of Hope
Lashed at every nook
Of darkness and pain,
Stripping it of its poison
Healing and nurturing
The wasted me…
Today I hear its
Caressing call once more
Seducing me to its
Gory depths…
Tantalized
I want to be swallowed
In its endless depth
Lost again…

  1. Really, the feel is so intense!! Loved it

"With your touch so true and your gaze fixed on me
All I could ask for was it to last
My passion knew no bounds nor my heart could match its beats
And yet again I feel drawn into that moment of passion, my beloved past"

  3. Rimly, this was so passionate. A soul lost in desire, not sure of fulfillment, but satisfied to wait in darkness rather than give up hope.
You're such a lovely poet Rimly. Your soul is so passionate.

  8. “Dark Desire” is aptly named. Why, if lacerated beyond repair, would one ever want to stand on the precipice of the whirlpool again and be sucked back in? But that’s the power of Eros, forceful, overpowering, possessive! Beware dear Rimly! He's out to get you!

  10. Waiting is always hell and uncertain wait is a living nightmare. Love conquers all, or so they say...hope keeps us afloat on the choppy waters of this sea called true love. Amazing poem my dear Outlier, lots of love.

  16. My dear Rimly,
Where there's a glimmer of hope, there's life & where there's life, love will soon follow. Love never fails us...it's we humans who misuse its meaning & blame the outcome on love. Always leave your heart open to love. Love is so irresistible that when it comes knocking, no matter how hard you try to resist, it always wins.
Passionate & intense, but beautifully expressed.
    Thanks for sharing & visiting.

  29. Hello Rimly!
Thank you for visiting my blog. To have another blogger take interest in my poems makes me all the more merry.

Oh my! This piece of art is so deep and intense. I could imagine the feelings that this poem portrays. This is remarkable. The poem leaves an impact, that feeling of unfulfilled desires, the want of more and the pain that follows with hopelessness. I am glad to have made it to your blog. It's worth every ounce of minute I spend here.

    Have a nice day! :)
