MY DREAMS

MY DREAMS

Photo: Google Image

My wasted, weary dreams
Lie scattered like petals
Around me…
Some fresh and crisp
Some crushed
Others torn and shriveled…
I look up at the expansive sky
Generous and engulfing
And beseech for strength…
The desire to collect them,
These carelessly strewn carcasses,
Throb and pulsate…
I long to gather them,
Hold them close to my heart
And weave another tapestry,
Another patchwork of longing
Frail and incomplete
Futile without you…
I gaze at the hopeless scatterings
Wanting yet holding back,
While the wind
Blows them away
No longer mine…
The shadows of agony
Dissipate…
As the beaming sun
Smiles down upon my
Eager face…
Renewing me
For another day,
Another bunch of
 Fresh dreams…

  5. Letting go of our dreams is always hard but the beauty of the human spirit is that we can dream new ones. You say it so eloquently, as always! Knowing that you're reaching out for new dreams makes my heart sing for you, dearest Rimly!

    1. I know Rachel. Somethings are very difficult to let go and even if you do and move on, they stay dormant in your heart

  10. My dear Rimly,
Everyone dreams of having love last forever. It is not always so. To let go of someone you love is an act of true love indeed, because it is so hard to do. We were created to love and be loved in return. Love has no timeline and usually knocks at the door when we believe it is lost or when we least expect it. Never give up your dreams of finding love again. Where there is hope, there is life and where there is life, there is love. Poignant, bittersweet and heartbreaking, but you express it so beautifully.
Wishing you well dear friend. Thanks for sharing.

  11. So moving, dear Rimly . . . to be able to see our broken, shattered dreams all around us yet, like the phoenix, rise from their ashes and welcome new dreams and hope into our lives. What a tremendous vision of the human spirit!
    Love and blessings!

  13. R - I don't think any dreams need be crushed. Some are reshaped and born again with a new look, and some were not meant to be because it wasn't their time. When I look back over the years and see a shadow or two of dreams not realized I promise one day, one day, woman. Beautiful!
