AFTERMATH

AFTERMATH

Photo: Google Images

The frenzied waves
Of my tumultuous soul
Lashing and crashing,
Ravaging reason and sanity
Have ebbed at last…
Gentle and calm
Their lapping contains me
Whole and one
Once again.
I breathe easy
The violent stirrings
That tore at my being
Are now a caress
Smooth and soothing…
You are a speck
In the distant horizon,
On the edge of my world
Neither repelling
Nor luring…
Perhaps to blur someday
Fading into nothing
Clearing my myopic vision…
While I, like a fetus
Live enfolded within me
Unafraid and expectant
To rediscover myself
Amidst life’s myriads
Of shades…

  5. How exhausting the process is of finding ourselves after we've given ourselves away. And then, we finally see that we need to love ourselves more than before, and look within to find all that we need for love and life. I've done this before. And again...

You have such a gift for putting your heart down on paper. I see you Rimly, and you are beautiful.

  12. How timely your poetry is, striking a similar note to the one I wrote about at Healing Morning regarding detachment! I love how synchronicity occurs this way. I'm happy you're reaching a positive and healthy state of mind, sweetheart. I know it's a daily challenge, but you're making such good progress. Keep going, honey. You're doing great! :)

  13. I am getting goose bumps as I read this, very powerful. After all these years, I am still involved in the process of self-discovery. It's better to explore life and make mistakes than to play it safe. Mistakes are part of the dues one pays for a full life.

"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will find them gradually, without noticing it, and live along some distant day into the answer."
    - Rainer Maria Rilke
