The Darkness In Her....

The Darkness In Her….

With every turn
Of the full moon
She changes….
Another Jekyll and Hyde
Love, compassion,
Understanding, acceptance
All swept to a corner…
Like an evil witch
She churns and churns
Pain and hurting
In the cauldron
Of her frenzied mind.
Plotting and sub-plotting…
The cold damp recesses
Of her heart turning black
Potion after potions
Of magical charm, love,
Tears and silent appeals
Have no hold over him
Her lover…
Longing and helplessness
Turn into lashings
Till he bleeds,
Choosing to be helpless,
Patience is his forte
And all he has is
“Don’t worry baby, I love you”
Some days the words
Like a balm soothe
Her tattered and
Frayed nerves
Other days
They are like claws,
Every syllable
Digging into her soul
Screeching and screaming
Making her want to
Rip out her sick heart
Instead, frothing and fuming
She spits out venom
Emptied she wonders…
Is this love or a sick obsession?
Or just the lure of the
Forbidden fruit
That is him?
Despising what she becomes
A monstrosity
She wants to flee
This darkness that
Possesses her
But she stays rooted,
Desiring him
With a deluge like passion
Perhaps for eternity…
Pain and hellish fury
Swept to a corner

  1. A woman betrayed or hurt can lead to self destruction.... You have capture this essence in your writing.

  2. She is not to be blamed, it's the moon's fault. She just loves with all her heart and feels the pangs of loneliness and despair on bad moon days. A honest and touching cry from the heart...lovely n sad.

  3. Oh, wow, this was a tough one for me today – beautifully written. What I think you have captured so articulating is the dark side in all of us, it is part of us and where I think we store our hurts and frustrations. Mostly we keep it under lock and key until we are alone with our own self when we are feeling reflective or dealing with something we don’t quite understand or control. It’s healthy to realize all of our parts (I think) the trick is to find a ways to express our inside feelings (as was done in this poem) so they don’t live inside of us and fester (hard for me today because of only recently did I give up on someone that does this to my insides). Strong and vivid.. will likely haunt me today. In a good way I think.

  4. Oh dear Rimly! I have been this witch a few times in my life. Your words bring flashbacks, smiles and frowns as I remember. Thanks as always for creating and offering such a lyrical treat.

  5. Oh Rimly, my soul sis... I hope it isn't your soul in anguish right now, your post is crying ...

I want to flee with her from the darkness...but it's the same root where I could retrace light...

Allow love to emerge...happy thoughts...positive ones...

    love you Rimly...:*

  6. Which wolf do you feed more? It'll determine which governs your life Rimly...

Which is more beneficial to you?

Free yourself out of the are an erotic, most passionate, creative and lovely writer. Focus your energies in lighter hues ;)

  7. dreaded yet so true.

  8. the need for love, desire, keeps her going....despite the pain. story of many..

  9. Human complicated...light and dark mingled together...As always...XOXOXO

  10. Rimly your soul sings out in sadness and you touch our hearts with its cries... You are my favorite out here of all the poetess you always seem to touch my heart...

    Be well

  11. You've captured the mood and situation we've all been in; a position of weakness and yearning as we crave love and must have it despite the costs. Dark and brooding but so addictive!!

  12. Deep and dark but the pain is touching! She will survive this and pull long it will take is another story.

  13. Hello Rimly -

Oooo I like this transitional combination of visuals: "the words Like a balm soothe her tattered and frayed nerves...they are like claws...digging into her soul Screeching and screaming making her want to rip out her sick heart...". Rimly, you're a star! :)

  14. @Savira hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, does that really hold true? Thank you for commenting
@Sulekha blame it on the moon, she goes crazy..ha,ha,ha,. Thank you Outlier
@Brenda, yes the dark side in all of us and sometimes they take control of you. I hope this poem did haunt you today in a positive way. It takes a lot to get out something that is slowly killing you. I am glad you did. Thank you so much for commenting

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!"

  21. Yes Debra it does. Thank you for commenting

  22. Rimly - love becomes all consuming sometimes right! I know this side of love. You have brought the very root of this woman's feeling. Wow!

  23. Woah that just took my breath away...had to read it a few times more!! Amazing stuff Rimly...

  24. Kriti my goddess thank you fro understanding this poem. For many it is only the darkness but sometimes love can do that to people. xoxo

  25. Thank you Swati I am glad you liked it. Really love you for visiting and commenting

  26. A part of me here...and every woman who has truly loved.Aren't we also humans,we fee the pain..You have touched a raw nerve here, can barely make out what I am writing,as tears are pouring down my face...but you do do understand Rimly..“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”
    Neil Gaiman quotes

  27. Powerful stuff,'ve captured so well the kind of relationships that are so bad for us, and yet we can be addicted to pain, sometimes :(

  28. <3 I love the way you put words together.<3

  29. Having a certain hardness or severity of nature, the beautiful plays the role of a monster under the moonlight. let her flow and spit out the venom so that she can rest for a while. once the devil in her is gone, she becomes the beauty again. it is a gambling that she has learnt from her love life. it's not easy to find a medicine because the cure and the curse is both he, her love her life.

still we all try to dissipate the fear, the anticipation is the utmost affair.

  30. Alpana I think every woman who has loved and lost can identify with this poem. The wanting to cling on to a love that is slowly killing you inside, a relationship that can never be fruitful and yet we try and hold to it. I understand and I know you do too. Thank you for commenting and also adding that insightful quote by SK Rehmani.

  31. Corrine thank you so much. Yes sometimes you cannot let of the pain even knowing very well you have to

  32. Thank you for your lovely comment Jan. xoxo

  33. Truly put Sancheeta. Loved your comment. Thank you

  34. Wow, that's a dark side indeed! I find it amazing how authors like yourself are able to illustrate such details in such a 'feel-able' manner, so much so that you are able to feel the emotions captured through words. Thanks for sharing this, Rimly :)

  35. Thank you Janwong for visiting and commenting. Really loved your comment, it is a compliment.

  36. Hi Rimly, my search for real happiness was born out of many years of harboring darkness (like that of which you speak) within myself. Now I truly know that there is a way out...because I am living the life I dreamed of.

    Blessings to you.

  37. I am so happy to hear that. It means there is hope still. Thank you so much for reading and commenting Becky

  38. Your words are so strong and evocative! They so easily bring visions of raw emotion yet I know how difficult they are to write. You always amaze me!

  39. I could clearly see the dark side!

  40. Thank you Mari. yes it is very difficult to write such dark poems. I have to be really feeling it to write like this.

  41. Thank you Sea Green Natural for reading and commenting

  42. Amazing ,Rimly..You are remarkable! :-)

  43. Love consumes us all and forces us to do things we wouldn't normally do. We yearn to be loved at all costs, we sacrifice our pride and respect in order to be with the one. Even when lovers are disrespected and they stay and take abuse...they're addicted to love and must have it at all costs. What is the price of love?? How much are we willing to sacrifice for love?? Lovely dark post!!

  44. Hi David, love is supposed to be good and yet so many of us suffer in love. Thank you so much for your comments. I really look forward to them always my friend
