Sulekha sulekkha.blogspot.com
Soul mates, my favorite topic…I had to add to this collage and especially when it comes from someone so dear a friend as Sulekha.
OUR TRUTH
Our silence speaks
From its very depth
Words rendered speechless
“Who are you?”
Hesitant, tremulous
A question…
That is an answer
As my eyes seek yours
The din, the fury
The restlessness
Scurry to a dark corner
The air is electrifying
Yet with a sense of calm…
Your eyes look into
The core of my soul…
Stirring and awakening
Emotions lost in
The dusty corridors of time
Memories like a deluge
Overwhelm my senses
Stoking the flames of
My tormented soul
Healing and soothing…
A veil of forgetfulness
Lifts to reveal the last
Piece of the puzzle of my life
Recognitions dawns…
As your hands reaches out
To take mine
Our truth, the only truth
Washes over me
Baptizing…
You are me and
I am you….
Rimly,Your poem is the perfect one to begin my collage making event. What I love about it is the sensitivity, depth of feelings and positivity, I love your vision. 'Soulmates' is a happy and wonderful term, your poem is both these things and more.
ReplyDeleteThis is a another beautiful poem Rimly! I wish I could participate but maybe next time :) I am sure with the help of all the talented people out there you will have an awesome collage!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I've met my soul mate yet, but your words are an inspiration to keep looking. :)
ReplyDeleteAs your hands reaches out
ReplyDeleteTo take mine
Our truth, the only truth
Washes over me
Baptizing…
You are me and
I am you….
The above words are just so true and because of these words I feel closer to my soul mate....
I'm your and you are me.. wow soulful :)
ReplyDeleteWeakest LINK
An interesting topic to write and have others write about. I'm reading a book right now, by Ken Wilber, called Grace and Grit. It's about his and his wife's journey through her cancer (she eventually lost her battle with it). Anyways, both of them , in their journals and to others described when they first met one another that they had met their soul mate. Only 8 days after knowing eachother they got engaged!
ReplyDeleteThe love they describe is beautiful. To find one's soulmate must be one of the greatest gifts any of us could be blessed with :)
your poem is a rendezvous of two souls infusing as one in hopes desires and dreams beyond time, beyond reason, beyond compare, just recognizing the believe that they are made for each other, no matter what, no matter how far.
ReplyDeleteloved each word inscripted that bores deep down the senses to have the impression of a soul-mate.
I felt every word you spoke in there...there's only one truth about 'our' soulmates...Oh, I love how this truth is conversed and expressed soul sis...
ReplyDeleteWow!! what a perfect way to describe a soulmate...beautifully written as usual Rimly...
ReplyDeleteI love it Rimly, its simply beautiful.Whatever relationships you have attracted in your life at this moment, are precisely the ones you need in your life at this moment. There is a hidden meaning behind all events, and this hidden meaning is serving your own evolution.
ReplyDeleteWhen deep down in the core of your being you believe that your soulmate exists, there is no limit to the ways he can enter your life....wishing u the best always.
Some are lucky to actually meet more than one soul mate. Is that even possible? I think so because I have! :)

ReplyDeleteTwo souls become ONE. ~SoulKISS
ReplyDeleteRimly these words transported me back to a time when I had just met my soul mate. Sometimes silence was sound and we were the only actors on stage. What a lovely memory. Thanks for helping me go there again.

Absolutely beautiful as your words always are.
ReplyDeleteRimly you captured the essence of a Soul Mate in your phrase " You are Me and I am You"..I know what that feels like..and a then "You are doing the Dance"..complete each others sentences, know they are on the phone calling before it rings, look into each others eyes and you both know what you are thinking. It is the most "Powerful" human connection and absolutley "Euphoric". When others are around you, they feel the essense of your Dance. You captured the understanding of what that feels like. Because you know what that within your own understanding, you will someday manifest the "Dance of Your Soul Mate"...It is so good to be back and reading your beautiful heartfelt words. Always...(Your beautfiul Button is now happily at home on Ravenmyth)
ReplyDeleteSoul Mates ... why did i find this so late. Typical, my punishment for taking the weekend off from facebook. I hope you get lots of contributions, it's a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThis poem so beautiful as are all your words and poems...soul mates I have always believed in....but are your soulmates a forever thing as I once believed?..I have to :::: sigh ::::because this phase of my life has me questioning so much...soulmates being one of my biggest questions right now...As always.....XOXOXOXOOXO
ReplyDeleteLisa thank you so much. Imagine finding like that....
ReplyDeleteTameka I am so glad that you have found your soul mate and that this poem brought back happy memories.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jan, I think you too have found your soul mate.
ReplyDeleteLeeann so glad to see you here commenting. Really missed them. Isnt it an amazing feeling to have someone dance the same dance, to know that he knows you better than you do, to know even before you speak. Thank you for grabbing my badge
ReplyDeleteLarry thank you so much. This is my contribution to my friend Sulekha's collage.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie like you I have always questioned about soul mates. Is there only one or are there many. I think anyone who comes into our lives is a soul mate some closer, some distant. Some remain with us through out our lives, some move on after they have taught us lessons on life or after they have learnt from us.I am sure in the course of our lives we will meet many many more. xoxo
ReplyDeleteYour soul is crying out in pleasure today!!! I think once you have your soul mate the search ends. Can there be another love in your life? I guess but I don't think a true soul mate. A soul mate is sooo hard to find and we are really lucky to find one that the odds of finding another is improbable at least to me!! Plus I think we discount the very idea of a soul mate if we think there is another one around the corner. Your words state that idea so much better then I could !!

:))thank you Jim. I thought about you and Phyllis when I wrote this. You two are indeed soul mates
ReplyDeleteGosh ! That was awesome Rimly ! And you kinda nailed it with your last 2 lines - "You are me and I am you.." Absolutely intoxicating web of words, images, expressions and melancholy which uplifts ! Good job !! Ayon
ReplyDeleteThank you Ayon for visiting and commenting. I was writing on my favorite subject....soul mates. those who have theirs are happy and those who havent are still searching.
ReplyDeleteI missed the deadline, sadly, but I wanted to tell you I wholeheartedly believe in the possibility of soul mates. The question is, will the two know it when their paths cross? Will they be free to engage? Will they be brave enough to run the risk? Love isn't containable. It's a crap shoot, a blustery day, a long kiss goodbye, it’s unexplainable. I know I didn’t make it but I wanted to share my three cents.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Brenda. One may recognize but the other may not. There is always that risk but if they are fated they will be together no matter what. Fate will keep throwing them together. As for braving the risk, I dont know, you have to be strong to take that plunge. Thank you Brenda for commenting
ReplyDeleteThat poem is sheer beauty! You are an artist with words.
ReplyDeleteI reread this and one of the things that I love about your poems are that
ReplyDeletethey are beautiful but also smart!!!
lovely lines...nicely crafted words!
ReplyDeleteRimly I am ashamed of my post on the same topic after reading yours : (. I wish I could be like you (in thoughts and in literature). Beautiful : )

ReplyDeleteKriti I am yet to read your take on soul mates. I amsure you have done a great job too.
Thanks Sukanya...I love the last line too.
The picture and poem are perfect together – delightful and even comforting poem, knowing that close-knit friends mirror our own souls and reflect our deepest selves.
ReplyDeleteYou’ve got it going on with the verse and imagery.
..powerful piece of poetry..
ReplyDelete..keep on writing rimly..
..ur 'Journey ' has already begun.. :)
Debra thank you. Yes to know you have soul mates who think like you and know you so well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Riggs. I was so touched by your Ode to my mother.
ReplyDeleteHi, Rimly! --
ReplyDeleteThis poem reminds me of a previous relationship. It was very tumultuous and extremely intense. We are soul mates who had painful lessons to learn from each other. It was important work that brought me where I am today. I'm glad that work is behind me.
I am glad for you Linda. Sometimes the teachings are very painful but at the end of the day we have to learn and move on.
ReplyDeleteMany many years ago it was Rimly who had introduced me to the idea of a soul mate and I believed in her...don't know whether you would remember but I do ...
ReplyDeleteI have not the belief in soul mates Anonymous. But I dont remember when I introduced the idea of soul mate to you.
